With a wide range of capabilities, Boyd can help support new designs from prototyping through production.

Boyd’s design support capabilities are spread across a variety of technologies to meet the needs of a variety of industries. As a custom manufacturer, Boyd has to be ready to accommodate a vast array of needs a customer has. Our specialties lie in thermal, mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, graphic, and electrical design support, providing design considerations for manufacturability and managing projects in a coordinated, efficient manner to meet the agreed requirements of a project.

Boyd Supports Your Complex Projects

When supporting a customer’s project, Boyd engages multiple departments to review designs. This in-house product development team includes product line managers, the rapid prototyping group, design engineers, and the process engineering group. Boyd’s development team is adept at supporting everything from our customers’ complex projects with demanding requirements to more straightforward components where customers only engage our manufacturing expertise. Adept customers leverage Boyd’s wholistic design view, where we seek to integrate functionality and simplify assembly and BOMs for a cost saving, multifunctional component.

Manufacturing and Material Science Expertise

In addition to developing a design, we ca also develop the manufacturing process. Custom part production require efficient, reliable, and repeatable manufacturing processes. Boyd excels at innovating and refining new and existing processes to push the boundaries of current manufacturing capabilities. The process begins by obtaining requirements from the customer with sufficient detail and specification such as thermal management, moisture ingress, UV, chemical, or corrosion resistance, etc.. Then, we help create a development plan with assigned roles and timelines. Next, validation parts are fabricated, tested, revised, and validated before starting production.

Vertical Integration, Decreased Costs

Boyd is a vertically integrated manufacturer that offers a wide range of in-house value-added capabilities and services. To further simplify your supply chain, we source high quality materials from our extensive network of strategic partners and suppliers to ensure that we provide our customers with an exceptional product.
